Pricing  /  Website cost

How much does a travel website cost in Egypt?

Three price bands, what you actually get in each, and how to tell an honest quote from a cheap one.

The short answer

A travel website in Egypt falls into three bands. A template build gets you online but rarely takes a booking. A custom brochure build looks right and still sends buyers to WhatsApp. A booking-capable custom build — live pricing, multi-currency, indexable tour pages and proper schema — is what actually competes with an OTA listing. The gap between the second and third band is where most of the money, and most of the return, sits.

The bands

Three levels, and what
separates them.

Band 01

Template build

The theme is bought, the content is poured in, and you're live in two weeks.

$______one-off project
  • A theme somebody else also bought
  • Stock photography
  • Contact form, no live pricing
  • Little or no schema
  • Performance you inherit rather than control
Fine for:

a brand-new operator who needs to exist online this month.

Not fine for:

anyone trying to beat an OTA listing for their own tour.

Band 02

Custom brochure

Designed for you, built properly, and still fundamentally a catalogue.

$______one-off project
  • Custom design and front-end
  • Tour pages as real indexable pages
  • Basic schema and clean URLs
  • Enquiry forms routed to your inbox
  • Core Web Vitals treated as a requirement
Fine for:

DMCs and B2B-led operators whose sales close by conversation.

Not fine for:

day tours and transfers, where the traveller expects to book now.

Band 03

Booking-capable build

The version where booking direct is genuinely easier than the OTA.

$______one-off project
  • Everything in the band above
  • Live pricing and multi-currency
  • Checkout finishable on a phone
  • Full TouristTrip / Product schema
  • CRM and payment integration
  • Multilingual with correct hreflang
Fine for:

operators with volume who want to reduce commission exposure.

Not fine for:

nobody, if the budget is there — but it has to be earned by volume.

PLACEHOLDER — insert your live 2026 figures in the three price fields before publishing. A cost guide without numbers doesn't rank and doesn't convert.

Why the range is a range

What actually moves the number.

Two operators of the same size can differ by a factor of three. These are usually why.

Number of toursTwenty tours is a template problem. Four hundred is a data-modelling problem, and it changes the build entirely.
LanguagesOne market is one job. Four source markets with hreflang and native content is four, plus the coordination between them.
Booking logicA form is cheap. Live availability, seat counts, cabin categories and deposits are software, and priced as software.
ContentWhether we write the tour descriptions and destination pages or your team does is often the single biggest line item.
IntegrationsPayment gateway, CRM, supplier feeds and WhatsApp each add scope. Two integrations is normal; six is a project of its own.
MigrationMoving from an existing site means redirect mapping and preserving rankings. Skipping it is how redesigns lose traffic.
PhotographyWe don't shoot it, but a site full of stock images is a credibility problem, so budget for it somewhere.
Who maintains itA site handed over documented costs more to build and far less to own. The cheap build gets expensive in year two.

Reading a quote

Five things that should
make you ask more questions.

!
A quote with no discoveryIf nobody asked how many tours you sell, in what currencies, and how you take payment, the number is a guess.
!
“SEO included” with no detailAsk what specifically. If the answer is meta tags and a sitemap, that isn't SEO, that's a checklist.
!
No mention of migrationIf you have an existing site with traffic and the quote doesn't mention redirects, the quote is incomplete.
!
Page builder presented as customAsk which theme and which builder. There's nothing wrong with the answer existing — there's something wrong with hiding it.
!
Hosting bundled foreverBundled hosting can be convenient. It can also be how an agency keeps your site hostage. Ask who owns the account.

Questions

Frequently asked

Is a cheap travel website ever the right call?

Yes — when you have no bookings yet and need to exist. The mistake is staying there once volume arrives, because the template that launched you is usually the thing capping you two years later.

How long does a travel website take to build?

A focused rebuild is typically six to ten weeks. Builds with custom booking logic run longer. Anything promised in a week is a template with your logo on it.

Should the website include the booking engine?

For day tours and transfers, yes — the traveller expects to book immediately. For high-value multi-day itineraries, a strong enquiry flow often converts better than a checkout.

Do we pay monthly or once?

The build is a project. Hosting, maintenance and ongoing growth work are separate and ongoing. Be suspicious of anyone who blends all three into one number.

What happens to our rankings when we relaunch?

With redirect mapping, preserved URL structure and schema carried across, rankings hold or improve. Without it, they drop — and that's the most expensive mistake in this whole guide.
